By night, Aberdeen's floating restaurants sparkle with thousands of neon lights. Moored in Shum Wan harbour, they can be reached by motor launch within a few minutes. Aberdeen Harbour is also home to a floating population of Hakka and Tanka fishing folk.

Ocean Park and Middle Kingdom
Southeast Asia's biggest entertainment complex guarantees fun for all the family. Highlights include one of the world's longest outdoor escalators, a shark aquarium, roller coasters and Kid's World. Stanley Market
Narrow winding lanes are packed with shops and stalls selling everything from designer denim, silk and leather wear to curios, chinoiserie and jewellery. Stanley, located on Hong Kong Island's south coast, used to be a fishing village and still retains a quaint, seaside atmosphere.

Museum of History
The Museum of History is in Kowloon Park near the Haiphong Road entrance. It covers Hong Kong's existence from prehistoric times (about 6000 years ago, give or take a few) to the present and contains a large collection of old photographs. The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday and Public Holidays from 1pm to 6pm.

Kowloon Mosque
The Kowloon Mosque stands on Nathan Road at the corner of Kowloon Park. It was opened in 1984 on the site of an earlier mosque constructed in 1896. Unless you are Muslim, you must obtain permission to go inside. You can enquire by ringing 2724-0095.

Bird Market
The most exotic sight in the Mongkok district is the Bird Market. It's on Hong Lok Street, an obscure alley on the southern side of Argyle street, two blocks west of Nathan Road. There has been talk of moving this market for years and, by the time you read this , it may well be at the new site on Yuen Po Street, between Mongkok Stadium and KCR railway tracks off Prince Edward Road.
